Mijas Views & Shopping

Another trip to the beautiful village of Mijas to buy supplies for dinner and walk the ramparts of the highest square in the village. As we approached the local boys in blue directed us up to a main road that lead us to the opposite end of the village. Parking is restricted today owing to the preparations for the upcoming Fiesta. Fortunately we found a parking spot where we could leave the BMW 520 limo that the hire company decided to give me. I think it might have been their little joke. A large car is not much fun in car parks and on roads designed for small rice burners!

The local market closes for siesta at 2:00 p.m. and we hit it at 1:45 so the bargains were there for the taking. 8 large pork chops cut off the rib & a long string of chipolatas set us back 16 euros. Vegies and salad makings another couple of euros together with some very acceptable local wine for a further 6 euros.

Full on BBQ at Casa Helena tonight as we leave for northern destinations tomorrow. Cheers…
